• Running back 'by committee' works out for New Britain football in win over Windsor (courant.com) — Windsor football fans saw their team fall 28-12 at home to New Britain, despite an early kickoff-return touchdown and the return of longtime coach Rob Fleeting to the sidelines. The defending Class MM state champions struggled after halftime as New Britain's run game took over, but Fleeting said he expects Windsor to improve as the season continues.
   

• New Haven man who died in Windsor watercraft accident was local electrician (ctpost.com) — Emergency crews recovered the body of a New Haven man after a personal watercraft accident near the Bissell Bridge Boat Launch in Windsor, following a multi-agency search that began Sunday evening. Windsor-area responders, including South Windsor Fire and regional dive teams, helped comb the river before the man was found Monday; the medical examiner is still determining his exact cause of death.
