📰 News we're reading
• Why Windsor Is Turning Empty Offices Into Apartments (patch.com) — Windsor is aggressively reimagining its struggling office parks by converting largely vacant buildings along Day Hill Road and Waterside Crossing into hundreds of new apartments. Town officials hope these projects, along with hotel-to-housing conversions and new construction, will stabilize the tax base, meet demand for multifamily housing, and support nearby Windsor businesses while still reviewing each proposal's impact on traffic and services.

• Windsor Jaycees Cancel Annual Chili Challenge (patch.com) — Windsor residents will miss a beloved tradition this fall, as the Windsor Jaycees have canceled the 30th annual Chili Challenge on the Town Green due to rising costs, fewer participants, and declining volunteer support. The group will still be visible in town on Oct. 10, running a beer booth and selling food during the Windsor Lions Club Craft Fair while continuing its scholarship-focused mission.
