Delaware to Hold First Missing and Unidentified Persons Day on Oct. 24 (news-usa.today) — Families in and around New Castle will soon have a dedicated place to seek help with missing loved ones at Delaware's first Missing and Unidentified Persons Day, held October 24 at the Route 9 Library. Law enforcement, forensic experts, and advocates will be on hand to explain investigations, answer questions, and connect attendees with support services, with walk-ins welcome even without prior reports filed.
   

2. Victim Attacked While Waiting for Bus in New Castle, Police Say (mychesco.com) — Police are investigating a robbery at a New Castle bus stop where a victim was assaulted and had personal property taken on New Castle Avenue. Delaware State Police have identified a Wilmington man as the suspect and obtained a felony robbery warrant, asking New Castle‑area residents to share any information that could help locate him.
   

3. Women's Bowling Announces 2026-2027 Schedule, First Slate Under Parisi (wagnerathletics.com) — College bowling fans in New Castle can look forward to top‑level competition coming to Bowlerama this winter, as Wagner's women's team will visit twice for major regional tournaments. The Northeast Classic in January and the Northeast Region Roundup in March will both bring multiple collegiate programs to town, giving local residents a chance to watch high‑caliber bowling close to home.
   

4. Notification Of Negotiations for a Voluntary Cleanup Program Agreement for Former O'Brien Property Site (DE-1106) (delaware.gov) — State environmental officials are negotiating a voluntary cleanup agreement for the former O'Brien property in Wilmington, and they're inviting public questions through DNREC's New Castle office on Lukens Drive. If you're concerned about past contamination or redevelopment of that site, you can review documents online or contact the project manager directly for more details.
   

5. 7 DE Admin. Code 1102 Natural Minor Permit Applications: Dash In (delaware.gov) — DNREC is reviewing an air permit for a Dash In gas station in Wilmington that would add a vapor recovery system to cut gasoline emissions, with comments due by October 1. New Castle residents can review the application online or through the Lukens Drive DNREC office and request a hearing if they believe the project could affect local air quality.
