2-Month-Old Girl's Death In DC Ruled A Homicide, Police Say
The infant died after suffering injuries at a Southeast D.C. apartment, according to police and the medical examiner.
WASHINGTON, DC — The death of a 2-month-old girl who was found inside a Southeast Washington apartment has been ruled a homicide, D.C. police said Wednesday.
First District officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded shortly after 9:45 p.m. Sunday to a report of an unconscious infant at an apartment in the 800 block of New Jersey Avenue Southeast.
When officers arrived, they found Khamyah Honesty unresponsive and suffering from blunt force injuries, police said. D.C. Fire and EMS took the infant to a hospital, where she later died.

On Tuesday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined she died from blunt force trauma and ruled her death a homicide.
Police said detectives determined the case had "domestic overtones" but did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding Khamyah's injuries. No arrests or charges have been announced.
