The 54-year-old was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A woman was killed in a weekend crash near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Manatee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 275 near mile marker 5, just east of the bridge, police said, identifying the victim as a 54-year-old woman from North Port.

The woman was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe west in the left lane behind a 2025 Chevrolet Suburban and accelerated into the right lane to pass the Suburban before abruptly veering back into the left lane, cutting off the Suburban and colliding with its right front area, according to police.
