• Clearwater firm starts work on $51 million government office project (businessobserverfl.com) — A longtime Clearwater-based builder, Creative Contractors, has begun work on Pinellas County's new $51.5 million North County Service Center on U.S. 19 near Countryside Mall. The three-story complex will consolidate tax, property appraiser, and court clerk services, add a large parking garage, and is expected to open in 2028.
   

• Clearwater teen's heart defect found through new Florida high school sports screening law (fox13news.com) — A Calvary Christian High School athlete in Clearwater recently learned a routine heart screening, required under Florida's new student-athlete law, revealed a congenital heart defect. His family credits the test with catching a hidden risk early, and doctors plan surgery in October so he can safely return to football in 2027.
