• ‘Storm ready story time' events around Alachua County make sure kids are ready for hurricane season (wcjb.com) — Families in Hawthorne can bring their kids to a Storm Ready Storytime at the local Alachua County Library branch now through June 26, where children decorate tote bags and fill them with free hurricane-preparedness supplies. Emergency management staff lead a hurricane-themed story, then hand out flashlights, long-lasting water jugs, first aid kits, glow sticks, whistles, and safety books to help local families get ready for the season.
