The City is moving toward purchasing the 5-acre CareerSource Broward property on W Oakland Park Blvd for $6.2M. The city has not stated its vision for the property, but did state in the August 5 City Commission agenda that there are “redevelopment objectives”, objectives which the city has not shared with the public.
Because we believe that OP stakeholders deserve a voice as we consider such a significant purchase, we are hosting a Westside Vision roundtable at 6:30pm on August 27 at 2819 N Oakland Forest Dr.
Given its central location and proximity to I-95, the coming Turnpike exit west of SR 7, and the anticipated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route, West OPB has the potential to be a hub for everyone in South Florida, not just local residents.
