• Jacksonville police investigating 'suspicious' death of man found in car (firstcoastnews.com) — Police are investigating a man's suspicious death after he was found sitting in a parked car Sunday afternoon on Stafford Road in Jacksonville's Lake Forest Hills neighborhood. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is awaiting the medical examiner's findings and asking anyone with information to call JSO or First Coast Crime Stoppers.
   

• He was always there for people': Wife remembers husband killed in I-295 crash (news4jax.com) — A Jacksonville woman is mourning her husband after he was killed early Sunday when his SUV hit a stopped tractor-trailer on I-295 southbound near Wilson Boulevard. Florida Highway Patrol says he swerved to avoid a disabled vehicle and was not wearing a seat belt. His wife is remembering him as a devoted partner and father figure as the investigation continues.
   

• Two Douglas Anderson students win awards at NAACP academic, cultural, tech event in Chicago (actionnewsjax.com) — Two Douglas Anderson School of the Arts students from Jacksonville earned silver and bronze medals at the NAACP's national Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics in Chicago this summer. Backed by the Developing Artists Foundation, a larger group of Northeast Florida students showcased talents in music, dance, and more while competing for scholarships and recognition.
