Largo Woman Faces Felony Theft Charge After Police Say She Stole $12 in Cakes From Sprouts (iontb.com) — Largo police arrested a 51-year-old local woman they say stole two packages of pumpkin mini-bundt cakes worth about $12 from the Sprouts on East Bay Drive, then refused officers' commands in her car. Because of prior theft convictions, she now faces a felony petit theft charge along with a misdemeanor count of resisting an officer without violence.
   

2. 13 First Responders Exposed To Narcotics During Largo Welfare Check: Reports (patch.com) — Largo residents should know that four police officers and a medic were hospitalized after possible exposure to an unknown narcotic during a welfare check at a Glades Circle apartment Thursday evening, though all have since been released and are recovering. Police say a 30-year-old man was taken into custody after an altercation, and investigators are still determining exactly what substance sickened 14 people in total.
   

3. Internet sensation 'Blaze' shines in win for Gaither (Fla.) as a freshman (on3.com) — Largo High's football team was in the spotlight Friday as Tampa Gaither freshman standout Rudolph "Blaze" Ingram rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown in a 31–14 road win over the Packers. The story highlights Largo's usually tough defense, notes this was the most rushing yards they've allowed all season, and places the game within Florida's broader high school football scene.
   

4. Central Illinois neighbors: Obituaries for September 26 (pantagraph.com) — Among the Central Illinois obituaries, one notice honors Greg Andrew "Goose" Leszczynski of Largo who died Sept. 6, 2026, with cremation rites accorded and a private family ceremony planned.
