• ‘Storm ready story time' events around Alachua County make sure kids are ready for hurricane season (wcjb.com) — Families in Micanopy can soon bring kids to a free “Storm Ready Storytime” at the local library branch, where they’ll decorate tote bags and fill them with hurricane-prep supplies. Alachua County Emergency Management and the library system are teaming up to give children flashlights, long-life water jugs, first-aid kits, whistles, glow sticks, and safety books during sessions running through June 26, 2026.
