• Oakland Avenue Charter School files formal request for mediation with Orange County School Board over January funding dispute (wintergardenvox.com) — Oakland Avenue Charter School is formally seeking mediation with the Orange County School Board after state education funds were withheld to offset Disney-related property tax refunds, potentially costing the school hundreds of thousands of dollars. Town Manager and Principal Pamela Dwyer estimates mediation could cost up to $25,000 in town funds, while Oakland’s mayor and vice mayor have so far declined to comment publicly.
