Cherokee School in Orlando to become arts and technology magnet high school (wesh.com) — Downtown Orlando's historic Cherokee Junior High School will be renovated into the Cherokee School of Arts and Entertainment, a 500-student magnet high school focused on film, animation, and digital sound by August 2028. Neighbors raised concerns about traffic and parking at a design meeting, while school officials highlighted new educational options and significant private funding for the $92 million project.
   

2. Orlando Woman Arrested for Poisoning Central Florida Man (westorlandonews.com) — An Orlando woman has been arrested after Polk County deputies accused her of repeatedly poisoning a 69-year-old Central Florida man with benzodiazepines, including during a visit to his Haines City home. Investigators say some incidents happened at her residence in Orange County, and they're asking anyone who may also have been victimized to come forward.
   

3. SeaWorld Orlando's 'Miracles' Returns to a Christmas Celebration Filled With Holiday Favorites (positivelyosceola.com) — SeaWorld Orlando is bringing back its popular Miracles orca show as part of this year's Christmas Celebration, running on select dates from November 6 through January 4. Orlando families can expect lights, fireworks, ice skating, Sesame Street holiday entertainment, and more, all included with park admission, though some extras like public skating carry additional charges.
   

4. Twenty rescued puppies from Alabama will fly to Central Florida next week (wftv.com) — Twenty rescued puppies from Alabama are flying into Orlando Apopka Airport this Sunday, then heading to Central Florida rescues in Oviedo, Windermere, and New Smyrna Beach to find new homes. If you've been considering adoption, these young pups will soon be available through local organizations caring for them after their arrival.
   

5. Continuum school closure affects 71 students in Orange County (mynews13.com) — A private Montessori prep school in Orange County, serving many Orlando-area families, will permanently close this Friday, leaving 71 students and about 10 staff members scrambling for new options. The acting head of school says finances and the founder's departure forced the decision and is now helping families secure records, refunds, and transfer or scholarship paperwork, including Step Up program transitions.
