Prosecutors and the sheriff say strong forensic evidence tied him to the gunfire that killed Rubli Perez‑Lucas and injured others, bringing a measure of closure in a case that rattled the Palatka area. 
• Putnam commissioner stands by ‘towel head' remark, labels Iranian regime as ‘evil' enemies (flvoicenews.com) — A Putnam County commissioner from the Palatka area is under fire after using an anti-Muslim slur while discussing Iran during a county commission meeting and later telling the Palatka Daily News he would not apologize. Civil rights advocates are calling for his resignation, while he insists his comments targeted Iran’s government, not local residents. The commission has not yet announced any formal response.
