Day 2: Prescribed burn in Breakfast Point area (wjhg.com) — Panama City Beach officials are overseeing a second day of prescribed burning Thursday in the Breakfast Point Mitigation Bank area to reduce wildfire risk and clear built-up brush. Certified Florida Forest Service burn managers and local fire crews are on standby and patrolling nearby, so residents may see smoke and activity but it’s part of a planned safety effort.
   

2. Arnold High School names Loren Tillman as new athletic director (mypanhandle.com) — Arnold High School in Panama City Beach has named veteran panhandle coach Loren Tillman as its new athletic director, with Amber Smith stepping in as assistant AD. School leaders say the pair’s experience and energy will guide Marlins athletics following longtime director Rick Green’s retirement after 19 years.
   

3. Dolly Parton affiliated entertainment complex proposed in Panama City Beach (mypanhandle.com) — A Dolly Parton–affiliated company is moving forward with plans for a new family entertainment complex next to Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show on Panama City Beach Parkway. The project, featuring go-karts, mini golf, and water attractions, has cleared the city Planning Board and now heads to the Panama City Beach City Council for final approval.
   

4. Terrifying video shows Naval employee fighting for his life in shark attack · American Wire News (americanwirenews.com) — A Navy civilian snorkeling near the Naval base by Panama City Beach was severely injured in a shark attack, with bystanders rushing in to help and save his life. Locals who frequent those waters are sharing safety advice and personal experiences, underscoring the risks around docks, boats, and deeper channels near the base.
