Missing Elderly Woman Found Dead In Woods: Sarasota County Sheriff
A missing 81-year-old woman was found dead in the woods near a Sarasota senior living facility, the sheriff's office said.
SARASOTA, FL — An elderly woman reported missing Tuesday morning was found dead in the woods near a senior living facility days later, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The body of 81-year-old Barbara Hamilton was found Wednesday in a densely wooded area near 8th Street in Sarasota, the agency said.
There is no evidence of foul play, deputies said. Her next of kin was notified about her death.

Hamilton’s cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
She was last seen Tuesday around 8:30 a.m. at Best Care Senior Living, 4450 8th Street.

She left the facility on foot and was thought to be heading to the Desoto Beach Club.
