2 Killed In Crash Involving Car, Pedestrian In Hillsborough County

Police said the crash occurred on Friday on westbound Route 60 in Plant City.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Two people are dead following a crash between a car and a pedestrian in Hillsborough County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Police said the crash occurred around 11:25 p.m. Friday on westbound Route 60 in Plant City.

According to police, a GMC Yukon driven by a 20-year-old Plant City man was traveling on Route 60, west of Horton Road, when a 50-year-old Plant City woman walked into the vehicle's path.

Despite attempting to miss her, the driver of the GMC struck the woman, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. According to police, the GMC left the road and overturned, ejecting the driver.

The driver of the GMC and the pedestrian were both pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
