• City Playground To Briefly Close For Maintenance In Alpharetta (patch.com) — Families in Alpharetta should plan around a brief closure of Wacky World playground on Old Milton Parkway, scheduled for Sept. 14–17 for epoxy maintenance ahead of fall break. City officials say the popular community-built playground has seen unusually heavy use and will reopen Sept. 18, aiming to stay safe and welcoming for local kids.
   

• Oxford man arrested after altercation at Alpharetta bar (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta police say a 30-year-old Oxford man was arrested after allegedly refusing to leave a Milton Avenue bar and slapping an off-duty officer's arm. Officers reported finding suspected drugs during a post-arrest search, and the man was treated for a dislocated shoulder before facing battery, trespass, and possession charges.
   

• A Georgia Cop Used Flock to Track 2 Other Cops: His Ex and Her Friend (wired.com subscription) — An Alpharetta police patrolman recently resigned after an internal investigation found he allegedly used Flock license plate readers dozens of times to look up a former romantic partner and another officer. Alpharetta police leaders say a criminal investigation is underway and emphasize that the department moved quickly once the alleged misuse was discovered.
