• GBI: 2 arrested after Americus search uncovers drugs, 4 firearms (walb.com) — Americus residents may notice a heavy law enforcement presence after a recent drug investigation on South Jackson Street led to two local arrests, significant quantities of suspected cocaine and meth, four firearms, and cash being seized. The GBI, Americus Police, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, and Georgia State Patrol all took part, and the case is now headed for review by the district attorney.
   

• Two found dead in Sumter County near Highway 118, per Sumter County deputies (wrbl.com) — Sumter County deputies are investigating after a man and woman were found dead Tuesday morning at a residence off Highway 118, just outside Americus. Authorities say there’s currently no sign of foul play, and the GBI and coroner’s office are assisting while families are notified and the cause of death is determined.
   

• GSW's Day of Giving sets new record of 668 donors from all 50 states (americustimesrecorder.com) — Georgia Southwestern’s Day of Giving just brought hundreds of donors and 24 Americus businesses together to raise over $139,000 for student scholarships, athletics, and emergency aid. Nearly 200 volunteers fanned out across town, while local shops donated a share of sales, turning Americus “gold” in support of GSW students and programs.
