• All Aboard the Plains Peanut Express Saturday, September 26th (southgatv.com) — Residents can hop aboard a special train leaving Cordele on Saturday, Sept. 26 for a scenic ride to the Plains Peanut Festival, then return for an all-you-can-eat fried seafood buffet at a private Cordele venue. The $140 package includes roundtrip tickets, four hours to explore the festival, and a community-focused evening back home, but seats are limited and require advance purchase. 
• South Georgia Tech employees give generously to Foundation TechForce 2026 Fund Drive (americustimesrecorder.com) — South Georgia Technical College has already raised over $30,000 from employees toward its TechForce 2026 campaign, which funds scholarships, free textbooks, and program equipment. Cordele-area businesses and the SGTC Crisp County campus played a big role by donating auction items and support, meaning local students and employers will directly benefit from the matched funds and facility improvements.
