• Concrete Jungle Athens Partners with Local Gourmet & Fly-Fishing Pro for Root Vegetable Pick (athensceo.com) — Concrete Jungle Athens is ramping up efforts to fight food insecurity and waste in Athens-Clarke County, organizing volunteers to glean surplus produce and donate it to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. A new partnership with local entrepreneur Abby Jackson will host a root vegetable pick on November 14, helping ACC residents in food deserts access fresh produce while cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
   

• Athens commission to vote on camping restrictions, street vendor changes (nowgeorgia.com) — Athens-Clarke County commissioners are set to vote tonight on new restrictions affecting homeless camping in public areas and on-site cooking by College Square street vendors, with big implications for downtown. The agenda also includes naming the East Broad Street bridge, advancing a new judicial center, and renewing a commercial lease, and residents can watch live online or attend at City Hall.
   

• American Ingenuity or a Broken System? (decisionsindentistry.com) — Athens guitarist and composer Shane Parish turned a painful, $5,000-plus dental bill into creative fuel by writing and releasing a new album called "Dental Work." After a health scare while touring, he returned home to Athens, recorded looping electric guitar pieces, and is now inviting listeners to support the project to help cover his treatment costs.
