GA Mass Shooting Suspect Arrested In AL (patch.com) — Atlanta residents now have a key update in last summer's Edgewood Avenue mass shooting, as federal agents arrested 24-year-old Ze'Kevious Zenard Perry in Montgomery, Alabama on felony murder and aggravated assault charges. The July 28 Atlanta shooting left one person dead and 10 injured, and authorities say multiple other suspects were also sought, though a motive has not yet been released.

2. 1 Dead, 8 Infected As West Nile Virus Spreads In GA: DPH (patch.com) — Health officials are warning Atlanta-area residents after West Nile virus killed one person and infected eight others statewide, with human cases confirmed in Fulton, DeKalb, Clayton and several other counties. With mosquito season lasting through October, Georgians are urged to use EPA-approved repellents, wear protective clothing, and regularly dump standing water to reduce mosquito breeding around homes.

Plan targets metro Atlanta housing crisis with blueprint for 300K new homes (fox5atlanta.com) — Regional leaders have drafted the Housing Forward 2035 plan to tackle metro Atlanta's housing shortage, aiming to add more than 300,000 homes by 2035.
