He says he'd complained for weeks about people camping and lighting fires behind the property, and it's still unclear whether management responded or if anyone will face charges.

Person killed in stabbing in Atlanta near popular Beltline trail (washingtonexaminer.com) — A 29-year-old man was fatally stabbed Sunday afternoon near the Beltline at 725 Ponce de Leon Avenue in Atlanta, according to police. Officers quickly arrested a 54-year-old suspect with an extensive criminal history, and investigators say he was already on probation for a prior aggravated assault.

3. MARTA to increase long-term parking rates (wsbtv.com subscription) — MARTA is raising long-term parking rates by $2 per day and cutting the free parking window from 24 to 14 hours starting September 14, affecting several Atlanta-area stations. College Park, Doraville, Lindbergh and North Springs will rise to $10 per day, while five others go to $7, with revenue funding security, lighting and upgraded parking technology.

NASA taps Georgia Tech for $10.5 million push to build the space workforce (actionnewsnow.com) — From its Atlanta campus, Georgia Tech just secured $10.5 million from NASA to speed up training for welders, machinists and other skilled aerospace technicians across Georgia. The program will partner with technical colleges and industry to offer short-term certificates, associate degrees, and internships, aiming to feed high-paying space-related jobs while bolstering the state's aerospace dominance.
