• Dalton council lowers proposed tax increase, adopts 1.551 mills (daltoncitizen.com) — Dalton's City Council has trimmed its proposed property tax hike, adopting a 1.551-mill rate for 2026 that still means modest increases for most homeowners and landlords. Council members also approved new Salvation Army duplex housing on Penrose Drive, funded turf replacement at Broaddus-Durkan Soccer Complex, and set repairs for Lakeshore Park tennis courts while hearing resident concerns about future data centers.
   

• UPDATE: Dalton Police identify 14 people arrested in spa raid; no trafficking victims (local3news.com) — Dalton Police and partner agencies have permanently shut down seven local massage parlors after a prostitution investigation, arresting 14 people and confirming no sex trafficking victims so far. The raids targeted businesses on Chattanooga Road, Airport Road, Dixie Highway, Cleveland Highway, and E. Morris Street, and city leaders now plan to craft stricter rules for future massage parlors.
