• Georgia Woman Sentenced in $158,000 Business Email Fraud Scheme (valdostatoday.com) — A Decatur woman has been sentenced under Georgia's First Offender Act to 10 years, with 90 days in prison, for laundering $158,000 from a business email scam. The Attorney General's office urges residents to learn how to spot online fraud and offers free guides to help Georgians, including older adults and small businesses, better protect their finances and data.
   

• NY man, Jonathan Thomas, convicted of murder after argument inside Brookhaven tattoo shop (ocgnews.com) — From the DeKalb DA's Decatur office, prosecutors secured a life sentence plus 15 years for a New York man convicted of murdering an acquaintance inside a Brookhaven tattoo shop. Jurors saw surveillance video showing him start a fight, then repeatedly shoot the victim, after which police used cameras and license records to track and arrest him in Sandy Springs.
