Inmate Trustee In Custody After Leaving Work Detail In Douglas Co.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — An inmate trustee authorities say got into a car and left his work detail Thursday in Douglas County is back in custody, according to the local sheriff's office.

Isaac Kindle, 21, has been re-arrested and is being taken back to the Douglas County Jail, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.

"Sheriff Tim Pounds would like to thank all of the agencies that came together in a coordinated effort to return Kindle to Douglas County," authorities said in a news release.

Kindle was assigned to the sheriff office's car wash when he got into a vehicle with a female around 9:30 a.m.

Authorities later stopped the car in Cobb County and took the driver into custody, they said.

However, Kindle was not located in the car, authorities said. They added they did not believe he was still in Douglas.

County jail records on Thursday showed Kindle was arrested on June 22 and faced charges of theft by shoplifting and failure to appear. He was being held without bond, according to jail records.

"There is no known threat to the public at this time," authorities said in an earlier news release.
