• Life Care Senior Center in Duluth receives a 69% on their recent health inspection (thegeorgiagazette.com) — A recent state health inspection gave Life Care Senior Center on Duluth Park Lane a 69 out of 100, triggering a required follow-up visit within 10 days. Inspectors cited cooling problems with prepared foods, improper food storage and handling, pest concerns, and several managerial control issues. Some violations were corrected on-site, but unresolved problems could eventually lead to a permit suspension.
   

• Gladiators bring back Irey (prohockeynews.com) — Duluth's own Atlanta Gladiators are bringing back forward Kirklan Irey for the 2026–27 season, keeping a familiar face on the ice at Gas South Arena. The 25-year-old turned pro with the Gladiators last year, notching three points in 10 games and scoring his first two professional goals in a key April win at Jacksonville.
