• East Atlanta Kids Club Opening Skateshop (whatnow.com) — A new East Atlanta Skateshop is coming to 481 Flat Shoals Ave., created by the longtime neighborhood nonprofit East Atlanta Kids Club. The shop aims to be a welcoming third place for local youth, selling skate gear and youth-designed merchandise while supporting programs that help Southeast Atlanta kids learn, stay active, and connect with neighbors. 
• 2 more mosquito traps test positive for West Nile virus in DeKalb County (cbs46.com) — Mosquito traps in several DeKalb County ZIP codes, including 30316 which covers parts of East Atlanta, have tested positive for West Nile virus, though no local human cases are reported yet. Health officials urge residents to avoid peak mosquito hours, wear repellent and long sleeves, and remove standing water around homes to reduce risk.
