• 17-year-old victim killed in crash on Jimmie Dyess Parkway (wrdw.com) — A deadly Wednesday night crash at Jimmie Dyess Parkway and the I-20 eastbound on-ramp left a 17-year-old passenger dead, according to Columbia County deputies in Evans. Investigators say a Chrysler turned left into the path of a Mercedes, and charges including failure to yield and second-degree vehicular homicide are pending against the Chrysler’s driver.
   

• Ex-Richmond County Jailer Arrested After Using Strobe Light on Driver in Evans (kicks99.com) — An incident in Evans led to the arrest of a former Richmond County jailer, accused of using a white strobe light on his SUV to confront another driver near Washington and Owens roads. Columbia County deputies reviewed video, rejected an impersonating-officer warrant, and instead charged him with disorderly conduct under a county ordinance.
   

• ‘It's a brotherhood': Blood drive supports Deputy Crosby, injured in line of duty (wjbf.com) — After a blood drive supporting injured Deputy Ethan Crosby drew strong turnout, Evans residents are encouraged to keep donations flowing at Shepeard Community Blood Center’s Evans location. Organizers say all blood types are urgently needed to help local hospitals care for trauma victims, surgery patients, and others facing life-threatening conditions across the region.
