• State's largest school district pauses redistricting plan (wsbtv.com) — Gwinnett County Public Schools has put its major redistricting plan on hold, delaying any new attendance boundaries that were slated for the 2027–28 school year. Instead, district leaders will study how to better use existing school space and hold community conversations this coming spring so Gwinnett families can weigh in before any future boundary changes are proposed. 
• Flock cameras help identify suspect in deadly Gwinnett County hit-and-run crash, police say (cbsnews.com) — A deadly hit-and-run on Killian Hill Road in Gwinnett County left one man dead and another seriously injured, and police say Flock Safety cameras helped them quickly identify and arrest the suspected driver. Officers used footage showing a sticker on a beige Honda Odyssey to track the man to Lilburn, and investigators are still asking Gwinnett residents to share any additional information.
• Ivan Allen Advantage Speaker Series: Gene Kansas and Paul Oh (gatech.edu) — Georgia Tech is hosting a free October 13 fireside chat with alumni including Paul Oh, vice president at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce who works closely with the county's international business community. Gwinnett residents connected to Tech or local business may find this a useful chance to hear career advice, learn about regional economic outreach, and even sign up for limited mentorship slots.
