• Multistate manhunt for accused sexual predator who skipped on $10K bond (my9nj.com) — Authorities in Newnan and Coweta County are asking residents nationwide to help locate Alex Rosado Lopez, a fugitive accused of raping a 12-year-old girl locally and facing additional child sex charges in Oregon and Wisconsin. U.S. Marshals say he fled after posting bond on child pornography charges, may be working construction under aliases, and urge anyone with tips to call their national hotline. 
• Georgia's biggest fall fairs are coming. Here's when these 12 open (savannahnow.com) — Newnan families can head to the Kiwanis Coweta County Fair, which opens Sept. 24 in town and runs through Oct. 4 with rides, livestock shows, stunt shows, reptiles, and live entertainment. The roundup also highlights other major fall fairs across Georgia, from Marietta and Perry to Augusta and Statesboro, giving you plenty of options for road-trip-worthy fall fun.
• Football Recap: Northside Falls to Woodward Academy (maxpreps.com) — Newnan High’s football team is set to host Woodward Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 9, giving local fans a chance to see how the Cougars stack up against a higher-ranked opponent. Woodward is coming off a 17-7 win over Northside and riding a four-game win streak, so Newnan supporters can expect a tough but exciting matchup.
