Cobb Eatery Catches Fire; 1 Evaluated

VININGS, GA — A person had to be evaluated for possible smoke inhalation after an early Thursday morning fire at The Orient Express, fire officials told Patch.

The blaze sparked around 10 a.m. at the Paces Ferry Road restaurant and was extinguished within 20 minutes, according to Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.

The person who was evaluated for possible smoke inhalation refused medical support, fire officials said.

No firefighters were injured during the incident, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but fire officials told Patch a 911 call stated the fire was in the attic.

"Preliminary information does not suggest an intentional fire," fire officials said.

The Orient Express is a renovated railroad car that was transformed into an eatery to serve hibachi, sushi and Chinese in a three-room setup.

The fire department did not identify the extent of damage to the restaurant.
