Man Killed In Shooting At Cobb Park ID'ed
Powder Springs Police say a man was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest. He has been identified.
POWDER SPRINGS, GA — The man who was recently found shot to death in Powder Springs Park has been identified.
Powder Springs Police on Monday said they found a 30-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to the chest around 9:15 p.m. in the 4100 block of Lewis Extension.
On Tuesday, police identified the man as Rashad Liddwell.

Officers immediately rendered aid, and Liddwell was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Police said at about 10 p.m., they were notified that he died of his injuries.
The accused shooter was identified as a female, but police did not release her age or name.

Police said she told officers "she believed she was in danger and acted out of fear for her life."
The details that led to the shooting have not been revealed.
"Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, the department cannot comment on specific claims, potential motives or legal defenses, including speculation regarding possible sexual assault. Investigators are working to establish the facts through evidence and witness statements," police said in a news release.
"We understand the public’s interest in this case and are committed to being as transparent as possible. However, it is
important that investigators are allowed to complete a thorough and unbiased investigation before any conclusions are reached. When additional verified information can be released, the department will provide updates. Based on the information currently available, there is no known ongoing threat to the community."
Police said they have not established a known relationship between Liddwell and the female. No one had been arrested in connection with the shooting as of Tuesday.
