With 38% of Boise housing units as rentals and many renters cost-burdened, residents can now access city resources, legal referrals, and templates online to better understand their rights and responsibilities.
   

2. Boise Bench residents report discolored water as Veolia offers safety assurance (kivitv.com) — Boise Bench neighbors are again seeing yellow-brown water from their taps, prompting safety concerns despite Veolia's assurances that the water meets health standards. Residents are urged to run cold water, clean faucet filters, possibly flush water heaters, and contact Veolia if discoloration persists while the company continues monitoring mineral-related sediment issues.
   

3. Idaho DMV launches new self-service kiosks at grocery stores (ktvb.com) — New self-service DMV kiosks are now operating in Boise-area grocery stores, letting you renew your vehicle registration quickly while you shop. Five Treasure Valley locations are live, with more planned, and the state emphasizes convenience, privacy protections, and that the kiosks are funded by vendor transaction fees rather than tax dollars.

California shelter pets flown to Boise for second chance amid overcrowding in LA shelters (ktvb.com) — Newly arrived cats and dogs from overcrowded Los Angeles shelters are now in Boise, with ten pups staying at the Idaho Humane Society and headed for the adoption floor within days. Because animals here are adopted quickly, local residents are being encouraged to watch the shelter's website and consider giving these transported pets a new home.

Diesel nears $6 a gallon as AAA cites Middle East conflict for Idaho price surge (idahonews.com) — Boise drivers are now paying about $4.79 per gallon for regular gas, as Idaho fuel prices hit new records this week. AAA Idaho blames rising crude costs tied to Middle East conflicts, with both gasoline and diesel jumping sharply in just days across the state.
