1. City of Twin Falls announce plans for a permanent memorial for victims of Aug. 1 shooting (idahonews.com) — Twin Falls city leaders are launching a community-driven effort to design and build a permanent memorial for those killed in the Aug. 1 mass shooting, aiming to create a peaceful place for remembrance and healing. The Twin Falls Community Foundation, now affiliated with the Idaho Community Foundation, is leading fundraising with an initial $20,000 seed gift, and residents will be invited to help shape the memorial's design and location.
   

2. Valley House raising money for new playground (kmvt.com) — A Twin Falls homeless shelter is raising $30,000 to build a safer, modern playground for about 50 children in its programs after removing an aging wooden structure. Organizers have already collected $10,500 and hope to finish fundraising over the winter so construction can start in spring and be ready by next summer, with donation details available on Valley House's website and social media.
   

3. DMV soft launches registration kiosks in grocery stores (arbiteronline.com) — Twin Falls drivers will soon be able to renew vehicle registrations at a new self-service DMV kiosk planned for a local grocery store within the next month. The state is expanding these kiosks to cities including Pocatello, Nampa and Idaho Falls, aiming to help residents without reliable internet access. Transactions take about five minutes and include a $7.95 user fee instead of tax funding.
   

4. FAFSA opens with new changes for high school, college students (kmvt.com) — Twin Falls students and families now have a simplified FAFSA process, with more prefilled information and tax data carrying over to reduce stress. College of Southern Idaho staff explain that aid will be tied more closely to credit load, potentially limiting unnecessary loans, and encourage local high schoolers and CSI students to seek help from counselors or FAFSA nights before the June 30 deadline.
   

5. Friday Night Blitz Week Five (kmvt.com) — Twin Falls football fans can celebrate a solid win, with the Bruins beating Canyon Ridge 34–14 in week five of the high school season. The roundup also highlights big performances from players across the Magic Valley, including standout rushing, passing, and receiving stats, plus notes that Valley and Murtaugh will square off tomorrow.
