• Barrington hopes streetscape improvements boost downtown's draw (dailyherald.com) — Barrington's downtown just finished phase one of a $1.5 million streetscape overhaul, with new sidewalks, resurfaced streets, landscaping, and expanded outdoor dining areas now open for residents and visitors. Village leaders say the upgrades are the first step in a broader revitalization, with phase two on Main and Hough streets and a new Park Avenue plaza planned for next year. 
• Bears transaction tracker — analyzing cut-day decisions (suntimes.com) — A familiar local name is on the move as the Bears released wide receiver Scotty Miller, a Barrington High School graduate and Super Bowl champion, during final roster cuts. Miller, who grew up in Barrington and played last season with the Steelers, now becomes a free agent while Chicago continues reshaping its roster through trades and releases.
