• Spirit Halloween Opens Store In Batavia Ahead Of Spooky Season (patch.com) — Batavia residents can now gear up for Halloween at the new Spirit Halloween store that just opened at 81 N. Randall Road in the former XSport Fitness space. The pop-up shop is part of a statewide rollout and offers costumes, animatronics, and décor, with extended daily hours leading into spooky season.
   

• Child Bike Trailer Stuck 'Near Or Beneath' Pickup Truck Following Crash: Batavia Police (patch.com) — A child riding in a bike trailer was injured when a bicycle and pickup collided Tuesday evening at First Street and South Water Street in Batavia, but police say the child's and bicyclist's injuries are not life-threatening. Batavia medics treated both at the scene before transport, and investigators are asking any witnesses to contact the Batavia Police Department with information.
   

• DAR Chapter Greets State Visitors (henrynews-republican.com) — Batavia residents are spotlighted through the Liberty Education Plaza, a state regent's special project in town that honors local Flag Day champion Bernard Cigrand and promotes patriotic education. At a recent DAR chapter meeting, Illinois leaders highlighted this Batavia site while announcing multiple chapter awards and inviting interested residents to an upcoming October program in Henry.
