A 67-year-old man is accused of forcing his way in and stealing jewelry, and he remains jailed after being picked up from state prison and transferred to DuPage County custody. 
• Burr Ridge Restaurateur's Release Terms Loosened, Faces Gambling Charges (patch.com) — Burr Ridge readers may be watching closely as a local restaurateur, who runs Capri Ristorante and Are We Live nightclub, receives eased home-confinement rules while facing federal gambling-related charges. His attorney cites strict compliance with court orders and his key role in managing Burr Ridge businesses that employ about 100 people.
• Dr. Kwasniewski's Midwest Lecture Tour, Sept. 30 - Oct. 4 (newliturgicalmovement.org) — A Catholic author is bringing a free public lecture on non-verbal language in worship to Burr Ridge on September 30, with a talk, Q&A, and book signing. Registration isn't required for the Burr Ridge stop, unlike some later dates on his Midwest tour, so residents can simply show up and take part.
