• The Wellness Retreat at Northerly Island Park (feverup.com) — A full-day wellness retreat is coming to Northerly Island Park in Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 17, offering locals guided movement classes, recovery sessions, and a sunset DJ set. Attendees can choose from pilates, deep house yoga, HIIT, boxing, and mindfulness talks, then unwind with saunas, cold plunges, and IV therapy. Tickets are on sale now for this one-day experience.
   

• Community rallies to support family of fallen Chicago police officer after hospital shooting (abc7chicago.com) — Chicago-area officers, community members, and Greek American leaders gathered in Niles to honor fallen Chicago Police Officer John Bartholomew and raise funds for his family months after his fatal Swedish Hospital shooting. Speakers pledged long-term support for his wife and children and recognized injured Officer Nelson Crespo's ongoing recovery. The story also highlights the Ella French Scholarship Awards, which are helping dozens of CPD families send their kids to college.
   

• Former Nazareth star Lesroy Tittle finds a home at Chicago State (southwestregionalpublishing.com) — Chicago readers get a closer look at freshman standout Lesroy Tittle, who's helping launch Chicago State's new Division I football program while playing home games at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview. The former Nazareth and West Aurora player is already piling up tackles, sacks, and a pick-six as the Cougars build a young, largely local roster.
