Authorities Seek Public’s Help After Suspicious Fire At Church In McHenry
A storage shed behind Faith Presbyterian Church was destroyed in the July 28 blaze, which officials say has been deemed suspicious.
MCHENRY, IL — Authorities are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a suspicious fire that destroyed a storage shed behind a McHenry church.
The McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded around 2:50 a.m. July 28 to Faith Presbyterian Church, 2107 W. Lincoln Road, and found a 15-by-25-foot wooden shed heavily engulfed in flames, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Firefighters brought the fire under control about 10 minutes after the initial dispatch, and no injuries were reported.
Officials said the fire did not threaten nearby structures, but the shed and everything inside were destroyed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Fire Prevention Bureau Director Brent Innes at 815-669-5378 or email innesbrent@fire.mtfpd.org
