Panic Alarm Prompts Police Response At Crystal Lake South High School
Authorities say the activation was accidental and triggered by staff member.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake Police Department responded to Crystal Lake South High School on Thursday after a panic alarm was activated on campus, prompting an emergency law enforcement response, police said.
Officers were dispatched at around 6:10 p.m. to Crystal Lake South High School, located at 1200 S. McHenry Avenue, where they quickly secured the building upon arrival, police said.
Following an investigation at the scene, authorities determined the alarm had been accidentally triggered by a staff member and confirmed there was no threat to students or staff.
