Teen Dies After McHenry County Crash: Police

John Ethan Regan-Langrick, 18, died a day after suffering critical injuries in the Sunday evening crash, authorities said.

RICHMOND, IL — An 18-year-old Spring Grove man has died from injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening, authorities said.

The crash happened at about 7:35 p.m. on Route 173 and Route 12 in Richmond when a Toyota sedan and a Nissan sports utility vehicle, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office. The driver of the Toyota, identified as John Ethan Regan-Langrick, was critically injured and flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

On Monday, the Lake County Coroner's Office was notified that Regan-Langrick had died in the intensive care unit, police said. The coroner's office said preliminary findings indicate he died from complications of blunt-force injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Richmond Police Department and the McHenry County Major Crash Assistance Team.
