Woodstock Woman, 36, Killed After Being Struck By Train

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 36-year-old Woodstock woman died after being struck by a train on July 23, according to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

The McHenry County Coroner's Office was notified by the Woodstock Police Department around 10:40 p.m. on July 23 regarding the death of Jessica Martin , according to a news release from the coroner's office.

Martin was struck by a train in the 700 block of Amsterdam Street in Woodstock. An autopsy was performed on Tuesday, and preliminary findings show she died from blunt force injuries to her body and head, officials said.

Toxicology results are pending, and the cause and manner of death remain under investigation.

The McHenry County Coroner’s Office is continuing to work with the Woodstock Police Department, Woodstock Fire Department and Metra Police Department as the investigation continues.
