Battery On Officer, Firearm Charge: Lake County Sheriff's Blotter

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Battery on a police officer and unlawful possession of a firearm were among the charges in the Lake County Sheriff's Office's latest weekly arrest summary.

The following information covers Oct. 5 through Oct. 11 and was provided by the sheriff’s office.

As with any arrest press release, Sheriff Idleburg reminds the community these are alleged criminal charges, and those named in the release have not yet been convicted. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

THEFT WARRANT

A warrant for Allen K. Jones, 31, of the 5200 block of South Carpenter Avenue, Chicago, was obtained Oct. 5, for theft by deception and theft in connection with an incident in the 34500 block of Route 45, Third Lake. Detention and court information were listed as undetermined.

BATTERY ON CORRECTIONAL OFFICER WARRANT

A warrant for Latodre G. Foster, 19, of the 4800 block of South Drexel Avenue, Chicago, was obtained Oct. 5, for aggravated battery to a correctional officer. The incident location was listed as the same block. Detention and court information were listed as undetermined.

LEAVING CRASH SCENE WARRANT

Jean M. Rennetaud, 70, of the 8000 block of State Park Road, Spring Grove, was arrested Oct. 5, in the 100 block of Route 83, Mundelein, on a warrant for leaving the scene of a crash. Rennetaud was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Oct. 28, in courtroom C207.

ORDER OF PROTECTION WARRANT

Russell A. Larsen, 54, of the 31200 block of North Route 45, unincorporated Libertyville, was arrested Oct. 5, in the same block on a warrant for violating an order of protection. Larsen was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Nov. 5, in courtroom T020.

BATTERY ON OFFICER

Gary J. Milem, 44, of the 25100 block of West Lake Shore Drive, Ingleside, was arrested Oct. 6, in the same block and charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, battery and resisting arrest. Milem was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Oct. 29, in courtroom T020.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Samuel J. Sapyta, 27, of the 35600 block of North Wilson Boulevard, unincorporated Round Lake, was arrested Oct. 6, in the same block and charged with domestic battery. Sapyta was detained in the Lake County Jail. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Oct. 22, in courtroom T511.

ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT WARRANT

Anthony Lee, 65, of the 2500 block of 24th Street, North Chicago, was arrested Oct. 7, in the 1700 block of North Nicole Lane, Round Lake Beach, on a warrant for harassment by electronic communication. Lee was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Nov. 5, in courtroom T110.

SCREENING TEST FRAUD WARRANT

A warrant for Moises I. Lopez, 22, of the 300 block of North Jackson Street, Waukegan, was obtained Oct. 7, for defrauding a drug or alcohol screening test. The incident location was listed as the 300 block of Washington Street, Waukegan. Detention and court information were listed as undetermined.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Michael Horton, 72, of the 34400 block of North Almond Road, unincorporated Gurnee, was arrested Oct. 7, in the same block and charged with disorderly conduct. Horton was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Oct. 22, in courtroom C207.

BATTERY

Erik J. Crump, 22, of the 40100 block of North Lone Oak Road, Beach Park, was charged Oct. 8, with battery in connection with an incident at the Lake County Jail. Crump was being held on other charges. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Oct. 27, in courtroom T610.

Kevin J. Kouassi, 24, of the 2100 block of Hebron Avenue, Zion, was charged Oct. 8, with battery in connection with an incident at the Lake County Jail. Kouassi was being held on other charges. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Oct. 19, in courtroom T612.

DUI WARRANT

Melissa L. Toff, 47, of the 1300 block of Benton Road, Lake Villa, was arrested Oct. 8, in the 200 block of Water Street, Waukegan, on a DUI warrant. Toff was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15, in courtroom T512.

UNLAWFUL FIREARM POSSESSION

Jamal Phelps, 45, of the 2800 block of Sunset Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested Oct. 8, in the 0-100 block of North County Street, Waukegan, and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. Phelps was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Nov. 16, in courtroom T020.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA WARRANT

Enrique Roman, 41, of the 38300 block of North Fifth Avenue, unincorporated Spring Grove, was arrested Oct. 8, in the same block on a McHenry County warrant for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Detention and court information were listed as undetermined in McHenry County.

DOMESTIC BATTERY WARRANT

Stephen G. Brancato II, 40, of the 28600 block of Wagon Trail Road, Lakemoor, was arrested Oct. 8, in the same block on a domestic battery warrant. Brancato was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Oct. 14, in courtroom T511.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY WARRANT

Rosa E. Alvarado, 40, of the 2400 block of Arrington Way, North Chicago, was arrested Oct. 9, in the 300 block of Washington Street, Waukegan, on an aggravated battery warrant. Alvarado was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 18, in courtroom T020.

RETAIL THEFT WARRANT

Fatima A. Serrano, 21, of the 700 block of North County Street, Waukegan, was arrested Oct. 9, in the 0-100 block of North County Street, Waukegan, on a retail theft warrant. Serrano was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 9 a.m. Nov. 4, in courtroom T020.

AGGRAVATED SPEEDING

Michael S. Sheck, 59, of the 6400 block of Blue Stem Court, Long Grove, was arrested Oct. 10, at routes 22 and 83, Long Grove, and charged with aggravated speeding. Sheck was released pending trial. The case was assigned to branch court.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Charleen Cavazos, 31, of the 35200 block of North Nielsen Drive, unincorporated Round Lake, was arrested Oct. 10, in the same block and charged with disorderly conduct. Cavazos was released pending trial. The case was assigned to branch court.

BOATING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Jason L. Kulidge, 52, of the 12000 block of West York House Road, Beach Park, was arrested Oct. 10, on Nippersink Lake and charged with operating a watercraft under the influence of alcohol. Kulidge was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 8:45 a.m. Nov. 18, in courtroom C207.

BATTERY

Valene D. Eicher, 43, of the 400 block of Crooked Lake Lane, Lindenhurst, was arrested Oct. 11, in the same block and charged with battery. Eicher was released pending trial. A court date was listed for 8:45 a.m. Nov. 4, in courtroom C207.
