Driver Charged With DUI, Resisting Arrest: Riverwoods Blotter

RIVERWOODS, IL — A Chicago woman was charged with DUI and resisting arrest following a traffic stop near Lake Cook and Portwine roads, according to the Riverwoods Police Department’s latest blotter.

The arrest was one of four involving DUI charges reported by the department between Sept. 24 and Sept. 28. Three of the stops occurred near the same intersection.

The following information comes from Riverwoods Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Those charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

DUI

• Kerry W. Lemay, 50, of Gurnee, was arrested at 12:28 a.m. Sept. 24 near Lake Cook and Portwine roads and charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop. Lemay was processed and released, with a court date of 9 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
• Patricia Josephine Michl, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was arrested at 11:32 p.m. Sept. 24 near Deerfield Road and Jasmine Drive and charged with speeding, improper lane usage and driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop. Michl was processed and released, with a court date of 9 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
• Rafael Leandro Avila, 37, of Wheeling, was arrested at 4:14 a.m. Sept. 27 near Lake Cook and Portwine roads and charged with improper lane usage and driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop. Avila was processed and released, with a court date of 9 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.

DUI, RESISTING ARREST

• Vanessa McClellan, 39, of Chicago, was arrested at 12:20 a.m. Sept. 28 near Lake Cook and Portwine roads following a traffic stop. McClellan was charged with speeding, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest. McClellan was processed and released, with a court date of 9 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
