• DUI Arrest, Hotel Theft: Des Plaines Police Blotter (patch.com) — Recent Des Plaines police reports include a DUI arrest on South Mount Prospect Road and a theft of an iPhone at Rivers Casino on Des Plaines River Road. Officers also arrested a man on a Lake County warrant after finding him sleeping behind a Miner Street business, with all incidents noted as allegations rather than findings of guilt.
   

• Audacy's Iconic Chicago AMs Now Diplex From Des Plaines (radioworld.com) — Two major Chicago AM stations, WSCR 670 and WBBM 780, are now transmitting from a shared tower site in Des Plaines, potentially affecting how local listeners receive their signals. Audacy moved the transmitters from Bloomingdale after selling that property, installing new equipment at the existing WYLL daytime facility while keeping power levels high for strong regional coverage.
   

• Peregrine falcons tracked over thousands of miles of travel thanks to new transmitters (wisconsinpublicservice.com) — A young peregrine falcon named Lance Talon recently flew south from Milwaukee and made a documented stop in Des Plaines before continuing through Joliet and on to McCook Quarry. New GPS transmitters on several Midwestern falcons are giving researchers rare insight into where these once-endangered birds travel and eventually settle to nest.
