1. 63-Year-Old Man Accused Of Selling Crack Cocaine In Evanston (patch.com) — Evanston residents are being told that a 63-year-old local man has been charged with multiple felonies after police say an investigation tied him to crack cocaine sales near the 900 block of Maple Avenue. Officers executed search warrants on his home and vehicle, seizing guns, ammunition, drugs, cash and a vehicle, and noting he is legally barred from possessing firearms.
   

2. City to finish improvements at three playground construction projects (evanstonroundtable.com) — Evanston families should expect construction at Burnham Shores, Eggleston Park and Snyder Tot-Lot as the city upgrades playgrounds, accessibility, drainage and landscaping between September and December. Temporary parking restrictions and minor disruptions are anticipated, and residents can check construction bulletins or call the city's landscape architect at 311 or 847-448-4311 with questions.
   

3. Head of Evanston Community Foundation departs (evanstonnow.com) — Evanston Community Foundation's president and CEO, Sol Anderson, has left the organization after a little over three years, and the board is preparing to appoint interim leadership while it searches for a permanent successor. Foundation leaders say grantmaking, donor services, and community partnerships in Evanston will continue uninterrupted, emphasizing their ongoing commitment to investing locally.
   

4. Tall project nears completion (evanstonnow.com) — Lake Street Church's historic steeple, once Evanston's tallest structure, is getting a full set of new copper shingles and a refurbished cross in a project expected to last for decades. Crews have been working above Chicago Avenue since early summer, completing about a third of a $1.2 million package of improvements to the church building.
