• Frankfort Moves Forward On Multi-Use Path Plans In Prestwick Subdivision (patch.com) — Frankfort is advancing plans for a new multi-use path linking the Prestwick subdivision to the Old Plank Road Trail, aiming to improve local connectivity for walkers and cyclists. The Village Board approved an engineering agreement and is pursuing state transportation enhancement funding, which could significantly offset the project's roughly $628,000 cost and leave Frankfort with a relatively small share.

• Illinois American Water customers can speak out against proposed rate hike at Bolingbrook hearing Wednesday (shawlocal.com) — Frankfort residents who get water from Illinois American Water could see bills rise by about $10 a month under a proposed $129 million rate hike now before state regulators. A public hearing is set for Wednesday evening in Bolingbrook, where customers from Frankfort and other suburbs can speak directly to the Illinois Commerce Commission or submit comments online if they can't attend.

• VIDEO: Burglars use sledgehammers on gaming machines at Chill House restaurant in Frankfort (fooshya.com) — A long-time family-owned bar and restaurant in Frankfort, The Chill House, has been burglarized twice in just over a month by a crew using sledgehammers to smash video gaming machines and steal cash. The break-ins come as a regional task force of more than 50 detectives tackles similar thefts, and the owners are now adding metal shutters and 24-hour monitoring to protect customers and staff.
