Hinsdale To Study Flood-Prone Neighborhood

The summer's storms made the problem stand out more at a local intersection, an official said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale is hiring an engineering firm to study a neighborhood's flooding.

The village said it is looking at projects to improve the existing drainage, focusing on the intersection of Garfield Avenue and 56th Street.

"There's a lot of standing water, and of course, this summer's storms have only made this problem stand out more," Trustee Neale Byrnes said at Tuesday's Village Board meeting.

HR Green of New Lenox is receiving $34,450 to study the neighborhood's drainage.

"I think this is a smart approach," Trustee Alexis Braden said.
