• 'Slide, Ride, Swing' At Coming Hinsdale Playground (patch.com) — Families in Hinsdale can look forward to a revamped Dietz Park playground next spring, featuring dueling slides, a saucer swing, and ninja-style climbing elements. Village officials also say the treehouse-themed playground at Robbins Park should open by early October, funded in part by a $200,000 gift honoring late Hinsdale resident Stewart Mather. Both projects aim to create more imaginative, active play spaces for local children.
   

• Alcohol Returning To 'Crowded' Hinsdale Restaurant (patch.com) — Downtown Hinsdale's Toni's Patisserie & Cafe is under new ownership and the team is asking the village for a new liquor license that would expand beyond beer and wine to include spirits. The owners plan to keep alcohol off the early breakfast menu while adding dinner service, and village officials praised the cafe's lively, family-friendly atmosphere on Washington Street.
   

• Theft At Hinsdale Store Reported 3 Days Later: Police (patch.com) — Hinsdale police are investigating a retail theft at the Grant Square Walgreens and an attempted fraudulent check cashing at the US Bank on West Second Street, both reported days after they occurred. Officers also cited a driver for DUI and multiple traffic offenses at Ogden Avenue and York Road, with each case now pending in the local courts.
